Base Salary

$150k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

Own the architecture and long-term evolution of web applications, application services, real-time data flows, and their contracts.
Lead the design of real-time data visualization and AI insight experiences for industrial operators and executives.
Drive technical initiatives and migrations from proposal through delivery, including sequencing, risk management, and organizational alignment.
Set engineering standards for testing, observability, performance, security, and platform tooling.
Translate ambiguous customer and product needs into technical strategy and guide architectural decisions.
Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and raise the technical judgment of the team.
Participate in on-call rotations and lead responses to difficult production incidents.
Travel to customer sites to understand real-world system usage and constraints.

Have a decade or more of experience building and operating production software across front-end, back-end, and data layers.
Have deep expertise in Python and/or TypeScript.
Have designed and shipped multiple generations of modern web applications at scale, including complex UI state, real-time data, and performance under load.
Demonstrate strong architectural judgment across cloud infrastructure, databases, and event-driven or real-time systems.
Have experience with data visualization, dashboards, or analytical interfaces where clarity and trust are critical.
Track developments in AI-assisted development and agentic systems and have informed opinions about their use in software development.
Communicate clearly with engineers, product teams, and customers and defend architectural decisions effectively.
Be comfortable with the ownership, pace, and evolving requirements of an early-stage company.
Be willing to travel occasionally domestically and internationally.
