Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the Graviton bare-metal virtualization layer, including KVM/QEMU virtual machine management, subsystem lifecycle, health monitoring, and fault recovery.
- Develop embedded software, device drivers, and system applications for satellite systems running on virtual hardware.
- Integrate with microcontrollers and emulate FPGA, HSM, sensor, CAN bus, EFUSE, and other hardware peripherals.
- Build and maintain AMI and provisioning pipelines for satellite dependencies, software images, firmware, and certificates.
- Extend the Graviton plugin framework for satellites, gateways, terminals, and other virtual LRU types.
- Implement VM networking, WireGuard tunnels, inter-entity networking, and TT&C link emulation.
- Optimize QEMU boot and provisioning latency and debug host, guest, and emulation issues across Ubuntu/ARM64 and LEP/Yocto systems.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams on board bring-up and integration testing.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Experience with Linux systems programming using C, Rust, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with virtualization or emulation such as KVM, QEMU, or Docker.
- Familiarity with embedded Linux boot processes, systemd, device drivers, or Yocto/Buildroot.
- Experience with shell scripting and system automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred experience includes ARM64 or Graviton, QEMU device emulation, QMP, custom QEMU plugins, device drivers, microcontrollers, network virtualization, satellite or hardware test environments, EC2 bare-metal, SSM, EC2 Image Builder, Packer, secure boot, HSM interfaces, Python packaging, container image management, and Rust systems programming.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee under applicable export control requirements.
