Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship for Azure-based data architecture and cloud solution design.
- Design, deploy, configure, and optimize Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, SQL Managed Instances, and related database services.
- Administer and integrate Azure Databricks environments, including clusters, notebooks, libraries, jobs, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Develop and execute strategies for migrating on-premises applications and data to Azure using Azure Migrate and Data Migration Assistant.
- Design and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines for workflow orchestration, ETL, and data movement across hybrid cloud environments.
- Implement high-availability, fault-tolerant, backup, recovery, replication, security, encryption, RBAC, firewall, auditing, and compliance solutions.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize cloud systems for efficiency, scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Lead infrastructure-as-code implementation using ARM templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
- Collaborate with business, IT, data engineering, data science, analytics, and executive stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions and communicate project status.
- Stay current with Azure innovations, trends, and best practices and recommend solutions for complex business needs.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture, including at least 4 years focused on Azure cloud solutions and architecture design.
- Expertise in Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and related Azure data services.
- Strong proficiency with Azure Data Factory for data pipeline orchestration and ETL process design.
- Experience administering and optimizing Databricks, including cluster management, job execution, and integration with Azure services.
- Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks and advanced data processing services.
- Deep understanding of cloud security, access control, data encryption, and compliance standards.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Leadership experience and a record of successfully driving technical initiatives to completion.
- Equivalent experience, skills, and/or education may be considered.
