Base Salary

$144k - $198k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Drive software systems development best practices across product lifecycles using Agile PDLC/SDLC and Systems Engineering methodologies.
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a distributed R&D team.
  • Develop technical solutions and contribute to software and system architectures for digital applications and interoperable systems.
  • Translate user needs into functional and non-functional system requirements and lead cross-functional requirements activities.
  • Own system- and software-level design inputs and requirements while maintaining compliance with QMS, ISO 13485, and IEC 62304.
  • Lead ISO 14971-based risk analysis and mitigation activities.
  • Define verification and validation strategies, requirement tracing, and test architectures with verification engineers.
  • Perform ad-hoc testing of software systems and support Agile/Scrum planning and execution.
  • Coordinate design transfer and issue resolution with manufacturing, field service, operations, customer training, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with product development processes and quality system standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline with 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree with 8+ years of experience.
  • Experience with regulated products and connected systems in the medical-device or biotechnology industry.
  • Expertise in requirements management, risk management, and Agile development, including creating and maintaining product backlogs.
  • Strong documentation, oral communication, and written communication skills in a regulated-industry environment.
  • Preferred experience with cloud-based digital applications using SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, AWS, Azure, or similar cloud service providers.
  • Experience implementing AI/ML paradigms in digital applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical devices is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical-device cybersecurity design paradigms is a plus.

  • Estimated base salary is $144,000 to $198,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
