Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications.
- Build backend components and services using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, microservices, and API-based integrations.
- Modernize existing applications and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Monitor and improve application quality, performance, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
- Write and maintain automated tests.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and automate build, test, and deployment activities.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Discuss requirements, technical decisions, and improvement proposals with clients.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, knowledge sharing, and continuous team improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Java software development within an enterprise environment.
- Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST API design and integration, relational databases, software design, and architectural principles.
- Experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
- Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; OpenShift experience is advantageous.
- Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
- Frontend experience with Angular or React is a plus.
- Knowledge of Kotlin or Quarkus is appreciated.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, learning, and results-oriented skills.
- Fluency in Dutch and English.
