Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and document embedded software for hardware platforms supporting new and existing products.
  • Create C/C++ code to control hardware devices, implement algorithms, manage memory, and handle real-time operations.
  • Integrate embedded controls such as arc-control functionality to support welding performance.
  • Collaborate with power electronics, welding, engineering, project management, and product management teams on product initiatives.
  • Investigate emerging embedded-systems technologies and contribute to software process and methodology improvements.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and communicate project progress and challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or electrical engineering.
  • At least 1 year of industry experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and debugging embedded software.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented C/C++ development, embedded memory management, microcontroller peripherals, communications, real-time task management, and interrupt service routines.
  • Knowledge of version control, code reviews, testing frameworks, and software development best practices.
  • Proficiency with debugging tools, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware/software debugging techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred experience with PID control loops, motor control, digital filters, state machines, Windows, Linux, FreeRTOS, WiFi, Bluetooth, EIA-422/485, ModBus, Ethernet, electronic circuits, schematics, board-level design, and Azure DevOps.
  • Preferred familiarity with Agile or Scrum software development processes.
