Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.
- Write production-ready code and contribute features to the Yalla stack.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across bp to adapt and integrate solutions.
- Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release processes.
- Design, implement, and optimize relational databases and data models.
- Support configuration, deployments, monitoring, reliability improvements, and incident response for live services.
- Participate in system design, delivery planning, progress tracking, and execution of digital initiatives.
- Apply secure coding practices and uphold software engineering standards.
- Share knowledge and support teammates in a collaborative engineering environment.
Requirements
- Experience working as a Software Engineer on production systems with growing technical ownership.
- Proficiency in at least one of Java, C#, Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with willingness to learn additional technologies.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, or release processes.
- Practical experience with relational databases and data modeling.
- Familiarity with container-based development and deploying containerized applications.
- Understanding of secure software development principles.
- Experience contributing to production-ready systems with logging, monitoring, and reliability considerations.
- Experience using Git-based source control and common branching strategies.
- Ability to participate in system design discussions and understand architectural trade-offs with guidance from senior engineers.
- Understanding of Agile development and modern software engineering practices, plus clear communication and collaboration skills.
