Base Salary
$170k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Scribe’s billing and subscription systems.
- Shape the long-term architecture of our revenue platform as complexity scales.
- Design resilient, event-driven systems that remain correct under retries and outages.
- Build and maintain reconciliation processes relied upon by Finance and leadership.
- Improve subscription lifecycle reliability, including renewals and invoicing.
- Scale workflows that support both self-serve users and enterprise customers.
- Enable safe pricing and packaging changes without compromising financial integrity.
- Improve system boundaries between billing, entitlements, and reporting.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience building or maintaining billing or high-integrity financial systems.
- Strong understanding of guarantees like consistency and durability.
- Ability to scope ambiguous problems and drive them end to end.
- Deep care for correctness when money is involved.
- Strong backend engineering skills, ideally in Python and Django.
- Comfort with making sound architectural tradeoffs.
- Ability to operate with autonomy and accountability.
