Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to research and address a real RBC business challenge.
- Design, develop, troubleshoot, and deliver a fully functional prototype.
- Apply data transformation, engineering, cleaning, mining, and modern data science techniques.
- Work with subject matter experts, mentors, and executive sponsors to develop the solution.
- Present the project to stakeholders and contribute to project strategy and communications.
- Participate in training covering design thinking, agile development, and other tools.
Requirements
- Be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and graduating between August 2027 and June 2028; eligible programs include college, undergraduate, master’s, and PhD studies.
- Have an understanding of programming languages, databases, platforms, frameworks, design techniques and tools, code management tooling, and/or web technologies.
- Have experience with data transformation, engineering, cleaning, and mining.
- Have experience applying modern data science techniques.
- Have strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, along with teamwork, collaboration, creativity, analytical thinking, and adaptability.
- Have one or more of the following: experience with machine learning algorithms, computational mathematics, bioinformatics, artificial intelligence, large language models, natural language processing, topic modelling, data clustering, service-based architectures, API development, databases, storage, or data visualization tools.
- Experience with hackathons, financial services or FinTech, web or mobile development, or agile and design thinking methods is nice to have.
