Base Salary
$170k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for biosignal-based medical-device algorithms, including requirements, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.
- Select and implement appropriate machine learning, deep learning, statistical, and digital signal-processing methods for each problem.
- Improve internal machine learning and deep learning tools, model architectures, algorithmic techniques, and reusable code to enable rapid experimentation.
- Establish best practices for user-friendly, documented, and thoroughly tested algorithm implementations, including unit tests, continuous integration, and non-regression testing.
- Present technical results to stakeholders and support clients in applying Beacon algorithms.
- Collaborate on client-facing projects and assess the impact of deployed and future algorithms for customers.
Requirements
- More than 5 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly in health sciences or other regulated fields.
- Proven experience bringing algorithms into production.
- Experience with digital signal processing and statistics, with sound judgment about when to use machine learning versus other methods.
- Proficiency with PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks for training, developing, and deploying models.
- Experience with current deep learning advances such as Transformers, Vision Transformers, large-scale modeling, and large-model training.
- Experience with software and machine learning engineering practices including testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, continuous integration and deployment, and experiment tracking.
- Experience with biosignals, medical imaging data, or large time-series datasets, or enthusiasm for learning the domain.
- Ability to explain and present complex technical topics appropriately to internal and external audiences.
- Ability to participate across algorithm scoping, data wrangling, experimentation, formal validation, quality and regulatory documentation, production deployment, and client collaboration.
- Strong collaboration, communication, curiosity, simplicity, composability, and self-service mindset.
