Responsibilities

  • Handle all phases of new development and maintenance for web development projects.
  • Design, code, debug, test, and document Java programs.
  • Perform functional and technical design and implementation in a large-scale IT environment.
  • Participate in requirements gathering, analysis, coding, testing, and production support.
  • Consult daily with business analysts and Nebraska Public Employees Retirement Systems clients.
  • Mentor other developers and use appropriate web application development tools and utilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience, education, or training in coding computer applications; programming experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Preferred experience includes the software development lifecycle, planning and estimation, quality assurance, production support, testing, solution development, alternative evaluation, and mentoring.
  • Preferred technical experience includes Azure DevOps, Git, Eclipse, Rational Application Developer, Java, Servlets, XML, CSS, HTML, HTML5, XHTML, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, SVN, Microsoft SQL Server, SSMS, Apache Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server, Struts, Ajax, SonarQube, SonarLint, Apache Maven, and Ant.
  • Strong service orientation, interpersonal, analytical, technical, organizational, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
