Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, refactor, and troubleshoot existing native Android applications using Kotlin.
- Develop and integrate new application features based on business and technical requirements.
- Investigate defects, production issues, application integration problems, and root causes.
- Integrate Android applications with REST APIs, backend services, JSON, Firebase, and AWS-hosted services.
- Work with Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, and Remote Config.
- Support application releases, bug fixes, monitoring, maintenance, and production issue investigation.
- Collaborate with backend developers, QA engineers, product teams, and other technical stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established development and coding standards.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of Android development experience or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong Kotlin development experience and understanding of the Android SDK and application lifecycle.
- Experience with Android architecture patterns such as MVVM and with Coroutines and asynchronous programming.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working with JSON.
- Hands-on experience with Firebase services, including Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Authentication, or Remote Config.
- Experience debugging, maintaining, and improving existing Android applications.
- Familiarity with Git, standard software development workflows, unit testing, and Android testing practices.
- Preferred: basic or hands-on AWS experience, including API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, CloudWatch, or S3.
- Preferred: familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, production monitoring and logs, and Jetpack Compose.
- Preferred: familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
