Responsibilities
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability research across web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Perform threat modeling and security architecture reviews for products and infrastructure.
- Identify systemic security gaps and drive cross-functional, scalable remediation efforts.
- Develop security tooling, automation, and detection capabilities.
- Partner with product and infrastructure engineering teams to define requirements and integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle.
- Lead complex security investigations and incident response efforts.
- Document and communicate prioritized security recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and support recruiting and onboarding.
- Manage on-call security responsibilities, including triaging and resolving security issues.
- Identify and implement security initiatives for high-complexity and ambiguous risk areas.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in security engineering, including hands-on penetration testing, vulnerability research, or security assessments of web, mobile, or backend systems.
- Experience with threat modeling and security architecture reviews for large-scale software systems.
- Experience identifying systemic security risks and driving cross-functional remediation that produces scalable improvements.
- Experience developing or improving security tooling, automation, or detection capabilities.
- Experience communicating security findings and risk assessments in writing to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with security automation, static or dynamic analysis tooling, or internal security platforms.
- Preferred familiarity with distributed systems, iOS or Android platforms, or cloud infrastructure.
- Preferred experience with exploit development, binary analysis, or red team operations.
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Python, C, C++, or Java.
- Preferred experience integrating AI tools, developing AI skills, and applying responsible AI practices.
