Responsibilities
- Design and operate highly available systems using failure strategies and distributed-systems expertise to support 24/7 reliability.
- Optimize the Edge API Gateway for high performance and a seamless experience for internal engineers and external partners.
- Scale the Mollie Cloud Platform and automate infrastructure management through code.
- Collaborate with system and software engineers to establish and maintain SLOs and SLAs.
- Drive observability and monitoring for networking and cloud infrastructure using tools such as Datadog.
- Influence platform decisions and support product teams in shipping securely and reliably.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in Platform or Infrastructure Engineering, ideally with software engineering-to-DevOps experience or extensive network management experience.
- Expertise in cloud networking and Kubernetes, with experience managing complex cloud infrastructure at scale.
- Strong programming skills in Go or Python.
- Mastery of Infrastructure as Code for versioned, repeatable, and secure cloud resources.
- Ability to make high-stakes technical decisions and identify challenges proactively.
- Experience with API gateways, messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Pub/Sub, PHP or Java, and basic Lua programming is a plus.
