Responsibilities
- Design the architecture and develop core modules for Lenovo’s AI Agent Harness framework, improving stability, extensibility, maintainability, and performance.
- Research and evaluate Agent Harness, Agent Runtime, Agentic Workflow, Context Engineering, tool-use, and multi-agent collaboration technologies.
- Build cross-platform hybrid AI agent runtime capabilities for Windows, Linux, and other endpoint environments.
- Implement task orchestration, lifecycle, context, state and memory management, tool calling, permission control, exception recovery, and runtime monitoring.
- Design edge, cloud, and edge-cloud collaborative agent architectures supporting heterogeneous devices, models, compute environments, and network conditions.
- Develop standardized interfaces between agents, models, tools, knowledge bases, file systems, and external services, including MCP and A2A integrations.
- Integrate, validate, and scale the Harness framework across PCs, tablets, smartphones, consumer electronics, and AI applications.
- Establish functional, performance, stability, security, and cross-platform compatibility testing and quality assurance.
- Diagnose performance bottlenecks, resource consumption, task failures, tool-call errors, and complex environment adaptation issues.
- Produce architecture documentation, interface specifications, development guides, test plans, and technical research reports while collaborating across engineering and product teams.
Requirements
- Strong foundations in computer science and software engineering, including data structures, operating systems, computer networks, concurrency, software architecture, and design patterns.
- Good C or C++ programming ability with experience in memory management, multithreading, interprocess communication, performance analysis, and cross-platform software development.
- Proficiency in Python for agent framework development, model and tool integration, prototyping, automated testing, and issue analysis.
- In-depth understanding of one or more AI Agent or Agent Harness areas, such as agent runtimes, task planning, tool calling, context management, memory, workflow orchestration, or multi-agent collaboration.
- Practical experience using or developing AI Agent frameworks or related platforms, with an understanding of production engineering beyond algorithm prototypes.
- Familiarity with large language model application development, including prompts, function calling, structured output, RAG, model routing, and agent security boundaries.
- Experience developing, compiling, debugging, deploying, or optimizing software on Windows or Linux; multi-operating-system or multi-device experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Git, continuous integration, automated testing, containerized deployment, and agile development practices.
- Strong system analysis, problem-solving, technical communication, documentation, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of consumer electronics development and PC, tablet, smartphone, smart-device, or endpoint AI scenarios is preferred.
- English technical reading ability and the ability to use English for work and cross-regional communication are preferred.
- Preferred experience includes Agent Runtime or Harness development, AI development or model service platforms, MCP, A2A, plugin systems, tool registration and discovery, agent sandboxes, permission management, secure execution environments, edge-cloud collaboration, distributed systems, heterogeneous computing, edge computing, endpoint model deployment, open-source contributions, patents, publications, or large-scale software systems.
