Responsibilities

  • Analyze, fix, and test vulnerabilities in Ubuntu packages.
  • Track vulnerabilities in Ubuntu releases using internal software tools.
  • Collaborate with the Ubuntu community and upstream developers to develop vulnerability patches.
  • Audit source code for vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of common security vulnerabilities and fixing techniques.
  • Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices.
  • Experience with open source development tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, or PHP.
  • Excellent logic, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills with team and community members.
  • Experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and accountability.
  • Ability to travel internationally for company events.
