Responsibilities

  • Build, test, deploy, and launch backend services that operationalize content, business, and games workflows at scale.
  • Architect and operate resilient, highly available, fault-tolerant, low-latency microservices and distributed systems.
  • Participate in product reviews, scope and prioritize technical work, and evaluate technologies and application-development tooling.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident reviews, and communicate complex technical issues and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with backend and UI engineers, designers, product managers, and users to determine effective solutions.
  • Identify and lead technical improvements, mentor teammates, and uphold collective engineering standards.

Requirements

  • Experience architecting, building, and operating resilient, highly available, high-scale, low-latency microservices in production.
  • Proficiency designing and implementing gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful APIs and working with relational and non-relational data stores.
  • Recent proficiency with Java, C#, or another object-oriented programming language, including object-oriented design, concurrency, multithreading, performance tuning, and observability.
  • Ability to independently own work, collaborate effectively, communicate complex technical concepts, and drive technical decisions.
  • Ability to work across backend and UI layers and identify business opportunities that support organizational goals.
  • Preferred experience includes full-stack development, engineering platforms and tools, storage or media processing, observability platforms, SRE collaboration, build tooling, delivery automation, self-service infrastructure, and media production or distribution workflows.
