Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end full-stack applications from concept through launch.
- Enhance, iterate, and automate existing end-user applications and build new investment tools.
- Streamline investment processes and reduce operational risk through measurement and reporting.
- Support the implementation, launch, ongoing management, and improvement of investment strategies through scalable, repeatable processes.
- Partner directly with portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, traders, research analysts, and investment operations teams.
- Develop distributed data applications and pipelines at scale.
- Build investment-domain knowledge and share it across teams.
- Document design options and decisions and present them to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of full-stack development experience using Angular, TypeScript, and RxJS on the front end and Python, pandas, and NumPy on the back end.
- Strong object-oriented design and REST API fundamentals.
- Experience designing and building distributed data applications and pipelines at scale.
- Hands-on CI/CD experience with Jenkins or comparable tools.
- Solid unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices using pytest, Vitest, or Jasmine.
- Ability to decompose complex business problems into creative, efficient, and scalable solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, decision-making, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to write clean, testable, readable, and maintainable code and balance engineering rigor with pragmatic delivery.
- Preferred experience with Excel VBA-based applications and Oracle or Snowflake databases.
- Preferred background in financial services or investment management, including financial data concepts such as returns, risk, and portfolio analytics.
- Preferred experience integrating with financial data vendors such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or Haver Analytics, including API consumption and data normalization.
