Base Salary
$182k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and understand custom PCB functionality.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to specify new hardware.
- Develop firmware for custom boards from schematic designs and functional requirements.
- Extend existing firmware codebases with new features and capabilities.
- Document and develop interfaces for third-party vehicle communication systems.
- Implement firmware for drive-by-wire retrofit systems on new vehicle platforms.
- Support installations and troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues.
- Develop QC test infrastructure for boards and harnesses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship professional embedded systems and real-time control applications experience.
- Strong proficiency in C and Python in Linux development environments and ARM32 toolchains such as GCC.
- Production-grade firmware experience interfacing with physical mechanical systems, motors, or robotic hardware.
- Expertise reading, interpreting, and troubleshooting electrical schematics and hardware datasheets.
- Hands-on experience debugging embedded systems, vehicle wiring harnesses, or CAN bus communication lines.
- Experience with safety-critical embedded systems, real-time operating systems, or autonomous vehicle applications.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-paced startup environment and collaborate across hardware and software boundaries.
