Responsibilities
- Drive the team’s architectural vision and strategy for enterprise APIs and customer-facing functionality.
- Lead major technical projects across teams and make architecture and technical decisions.
- Design, architect, code, and document large-scale distributed systems.
- Build scalable backend services and public and internal APIs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in scalable, reliable, and maintainable distributed systems.
- Mentor and coach less experienced engineers on engineering practices and technical leadership.
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and engineering teams to improve platform architecture.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain service availability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working on large-scale systems or services.
- Solid architectural and security knowledge with experience designing, implementing, and evolving complex distributed systems.
- Experience collaborating closely with external teams and successfully delivering cross-team projects.
- Strong experience with Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript for scalable backend services and public and internal APIs.
- Experience building full-stack applications with an understanding of React.
- Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and database performance optimization under load.
- Experience with Docker containerization and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Strong mentoring, communication, and technical explanation skills.
