Responsibilities
- Integrate security requirements into system architecture, design, development, and configuration.
- Implement infrastructure and cybersecurity controls, including vulnerability detection and event-correlation capabilities.
- Conduct enterprise vulnerability scans, risk and vulnerability assessments, security control assessments, and remediation efforts.
- Analyze Fortify scans and apply secure software development practices to improve cyber resiliency.
- Document, monitor, update, and manage systems to maintain an acceptable security posture and achieve IATO and ATO.
- Support DoD cybersecurity policy implementation, RMF activities, STIG compliance, and cybersecurity solution development.
- Use big data analytics and traditional security events to identify advanced threats and indicators of compromise.
- Communicate security concepts with technical teams and senior management while supporting DoD and military clients.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a cybersecurity software engineer.
- Experience as an Information System Security Engineer or in information technology, cybersecurity, or software engineering.
- Experience with ACAS, vulnerability scanning, risk remediation, security control assessments, DoD directives, and STIGs.
- Experience with Fortify, AWS, Docker, RHEL, Python, and Java.
- Knowledge of software and systems engineering management processes across DoD acquisition life-cycle phases.
- Knowledge of DoD communications, cybersecurity, and IT systems.
- TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for access to classified information.
- DoD 8140 IAT Level II certification.
- Qualifying education and experience: an associate degree with 7+ years of cybersecurity experience, a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years, or 9+ years of cybersecurity experience in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred qualifications include DevSecOps, cloud environments, Linux, UNIX, Ubuntu, Red Hat, cybersecurity engineering methods, emerging technology research, and CISSP-ISSEP, CCSP, or CISM certification.
- A master’s degree in computer science or cybersecurity and strong presentation and collaboration skills are preferred.
