Summer 2027 Intern - Forward Deployed Engineer – Global Public Sector
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Shadow Forward Deployed Engineers and Deployment Strategists in customer meetings and working sessions.
- Contribute to building AI agents that take actions for government, nonprofit, and education organizations.
- Write and test prompts and improve how agents reason and use tools.
- Own an intern project such as a tool, prototype, or internal accelerator.
- Help build data pipelines and connect systems using Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, or Databricks.
- Build dashboards that track agent performance.
- Create proofs of concept that progress quickly from ideas to working demonstrations.
- Present work and ideas to senior engineers and product teams, including a final capstone presentation.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required because the role involves work with U.S. Government agencies.
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience with at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex, with willingness to learn additional languages.
- Some experience with LLMs and prompt engineering through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or internships.
- Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and data modeling.
- Relevant coursework, internships, activities, open-source work, student organizations, or projects aligned with the role.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with technical and non-technical teammates.
- Curiosity about AI, experimentation with new tools and models, and a collaborative team-first attitude.
- Preferred qualifications include Salesforce Trailhead badges or certifications, exposure to LangChain or LlamaIndex, experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, and interest in public sector, higher education, or nonprofit work.
