Base Salary
$125k - $172k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of machine learning models, including deep neural networks, reinforcement learning systems, and generative AI algorithms.
- Architect scalable AI/ML systems integrating with existing software and hardware platforms.
- Select tools, frameworks, and infrastructure for AI/ML development.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware teams, and data scientists on mission-specific requirements.
- Manage AI/ML project scope, resource allocation, timelines, quality, and performance deliverables.
- Develop and oversee validation, verification, testing, simulation, and modeling frameworks.
- Train, fine-tune, and optimize advanced AI architectures, including transformers, for complex applications.
- Apply supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement, and generative AI/ML techniques.
- Lead the integration of signal processing, computer vision, and planning algorithms for autonomous systems.
- Design and execute large-scale AI/ML simulations on CPU and GPU platforms.
- Mentor junior engineers and communicate technical concepts and project outcomes to stakeholders.
- Stay current with emerging AI/ML technologies and propose solutions for aerospace and defense challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or qualifying equivalent experience.
- At least 6 years of experience in a related field; 9 years is required in the absence of a degree, and a higher-level degree may substitute for experience.
- Proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Experience with supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement, and generative learning techniques, including PPO, Actor/Critic, and transformers.
- Experience developing, deploying, and optimizing ANNs, CNNs, and RNNs for production applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python, C++, C#, or Java for scalable AI/ML systems.
- Experience scaling systems for larger datasets or moderately complex environments.
- Experience leading teams or projects and mentoring junior staff.
- Proven experience deploying AI/ML models in production and optimizing them for real-world use cases.
- Knowledge of regulatory and cybersecurity requirements for aerospace and defense AI/ML systems.
- Preferred: master’s degree in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or a related field.
- Preferred: aerospace and defense leadership experience, GPU programming, high-performance computing, hardware acceleration, edge AI, XAI, advanced statistical methods, HMI requirements, and reinforcement learning or generative AI model implementation.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
