Responsibilities
- Lead and manage two employees by providing technical direction, coaching, prioritization, and delivery oversight.
- Own AWS infrastructure managed through infrastructure as code.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for builds, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
- Operate containerized production workloads, including health checks, rolling deployments, and autoscaling.
- Own backup and disaster recovery procedures, including restore testing.
- Configure and maintain AWS load balancers and Nginx.
- Manage access controls, IAM policies, secrets, and vulnerability remediation.
- Maintain monitoring and alerting and lead incident response and troubleshooting.
- Monitor and optimize cloud spending while balancing cost, reliability, security, and operational effort.
- Partner with application teams to troubleshoot services, coordinate releases, and resolve infrastructure dependencies.
- Document operational procedures, maintain technical standards, and promote knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, ECR, RDS, ACM, ALB/NLB, Secrets Manager, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and Cloud Map.
- Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Solid networking knowledge, including DNS, routing, firewalls, TLS, and load balancing.
- Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform and/or OpenTofu.
- Experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting Docker container images.
- Working knowledge of Git and CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
- Experience with DNS management, preferably Cloudflare.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Zabbix.
- Familiarity with Jira or equivalent ticketing and work-management systems.
- Ability to read unfamiliar application code, particularly Java/Spring and Node.js, for troubleshooting.
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring team members.
- Preferred: Windows administration, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 administration, and employee onboarding/offboarding access processes.
