Base Salary
$176k - $242k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop, integrate, and validate autonomy features and tests for autonomous trucks.
- Debug issues across sensors, compute, networking, controls, and software using logs, metrics, and on-vehicle tools.
- Lead deployment bring-up plans, communicate technical requirements, identify risks, and coordinate fixes across engineering and operations.
- Support periodic customer-site deployments and perform hands-on on-vehicle debugging.
- Integrate new truck platforms, including adding sensors and vehicle signals, calibrating systems, and tuning performance.
- Collaborate with hardware, operations, safety, and product teams to deliver robust and maintainable autonomy behavior.
- Provide technical leadership for planning, execution, and deployment of robotics systems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Strong programming ability in at least one of Python, C++, Java, or C# and experience with object-oriented design.
- Professional robotics engineering experience with system-level ownership in integration, debugging, performance tuning, field support, or deployments.
- Ability to design and debug scalable software systems with strong diagnostics, logging, metrics, fault isolation, and testability.
- Working knowledge of robotics concepts and mathematics including state estimation, Kalman filtering, localization, planning, and controls.
- Experience defining scope, interfaces, milestones, and success criteria for ambiguous technical problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical partners.
- Experience deploying autonomy or robotics systems in the field, including on-call or deployment rotations, safety-critical troubleshooting, or customer-site support.
- Experience with sensor fusion, safety systems, camera pipelines, machine learning for perception, vehicle interfaces such as CAN, or calibration workflows.
- Familiarity with Linux, Git, CI/CD, and robotics simulation or test harnesses.
