Base Salary
$145k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions for mission-critical applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams through requirements, analysis, design, configuration, build, and deployment phases.
- Configure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high availability, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Monitor and tune database performance using query optimization and indexing strategies.
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards.
- Automate database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks using SQL and Python.
- Provide technical guidance for database design, migration, and integration projects.
- Configure geospatial database capabilities supporting ArcGIS web, desktop, and mobile applications.
- Provide technical assistance and train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related STEM field.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.
- Familiarity with database design, data loading, backup and recovery, performance tuning, maintenance, and security.
- SQL and Python scripting skills for automation and data workflows.
- Active or current within two years of active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Preferred: technical support or customer-facing GIS experience, data conversion or migration experience, Linux and UNIX knowledge, web mapping and remote sensing experience, Python and SQL proficiency, and GIS certifications.
- Knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and/or Windows environments and geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, customer service, and multitasking skills.
