Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to requirements gathering, architecture, design, implementation, unit testing, functional testing, and maintenance of network software components.
- Develop solutions for datacenter and enterprise networks using Marvell Terlaynx and Prestera packet processors with SAI and SONiC.
- Provide technical leadership on distributed R&D projects and execute projects across multiple locations.
- Help define project goals and schedules and collaborate with architecture, development, QA/validation, system test, product management, documentation, and customer teams.
- Mentor and train engineering team members.
- Develop scalable embedded network software for L2 switching, L3 routing, forwarding, ACL, QoS, policers, and TCAM functionality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and 8–15 years of related professional experience, or a master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 5–10 years of experience.
- Extensive technical depth in L2 and L3 Ethernet switching and routing protocols.
- Extensive programming experience with C, C++, and Python.
- Hands-on experience developing software for embedded switch and router systems.
- Experience architecting scalable Linux-based embedded products.
- Experience with L2 technologies and protocols including LAG, VLAN, xSTP, LLDP, Link OAM, ARP, VxLAN, and datacenter fabric switching.
- Experience with L3 unicast and multicast routing protocols including RIP, OSPF, IGMP, BGP, and ISIS.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to executives and junior engineers and lead distributed teams across multiple locations.
