Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance and maintain software solutions for financial processes.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design through deployment.
- Build new features and products as part of an integrated engineering team.
- Improve financial automation and reconciliation workflows using accounting expertise.
- Evaluate and deploy software tools, processes, and metrics.
- Provide support and consulting for software systems usage.
- Design and develop software applications and features in Go.
- Build reports and automations using Python and SQL.
- Design and maintain solutions within a scalable distributed architecture.
- Develop metrics to drive continuous improvement of existing products.
- Deliver testable features that meet reporting and compliance standards.
- Mentor engineering teammates and help shape technical direction.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of full-stack software engineering experience.
- Experience building and serving REST APIs using Go, Java, Python, or a similar language.
- Experience bringing new ideas forward and building consensus on technical direction.
- Demonstrated experience working with Claude or equivalent large language model tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Prior experience as an accountant or financial analyst is preferred.
- Understanding of financial operations including reconciliation, reporting, and compliance is preferred.
- Experience with multiple programming languages and databases such as Python, Java, Go, MySQL, or PostgreSQL is preferred.
- Experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, New Relic, or Datadog is preferred.
- Familiarity with containerized microservice architecture deployed with Kubernetes on AWS is preferred.
- Demonstrated history of delivering commercial APIs and web applications is preferred.
