Responsibilities
- Own and lead design for major backend systems across CE, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to address cross-cutting concerns such as shared libraries and tech debt.
- Tackle escalated production issues, security vulnerabilities, and architectural decisions.
- Contribute to and guide implementation of large features and platform-wide improvements.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers across levels.
- Drive documentation, performance profiling, and system-level debugging practices.
- Work with EMs and PMs to shape the technical roadmap and support long-term platform health.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in backend engineering with expertise in designing complex distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Ruby, and cloud platforms like AWS.
- Excellent system design and architecture skills.
- Comfortable debugging performance issues and tackling infra and security problems.
- Strong mentorship and communication skills with a track record of influencing across teams.
- Bonus: experience with SingleStore, email deliverability systems, or platform architecture at scale.
