Responsibilities
- Deliver complex end-to-end software solutions involving multiple components and teams.
- Design and deploy scalable backend APIs, services, databases, and production systems.
- Lead large-scale refactors, system upgrades, and architectural improvements while managing delivery risks.
- Assess technical solutions and advise on product priorities, trade-offs, and system design.
- Document system structures and processes for cross-team understanding.
- Mentor junior engineers, delegate responsibilities, and enable team growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver customer and business outcomes.
- Build and support customer-facing applications and troubleshoot websites, application servers, networks, and databases.
Requirements
- Proven core backend engineering experience with scalable APIs, service design, and database modeling.
- Expertise in relational and non-relational database design and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
- Proven experience designing and deploying production systems using AWS services.
- A track record of enabling engineering teams and business outcomes.
- Preferred experience building customer-facing React applications with TypeScript.
- Preferred production backend API experience supporting customer-facing features.
- Full-stack development experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience writing quality, testable code and improving codebase quality through automation.
- Experience mentoring others while making strong technical contributions in small cross-functional teams.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across websites, application servers, networks, and databases.
- Experience with refactoring initiatives, legacy codebases, or growing and startup-stage companies is a plus.
