Base Salary
$320k - $405k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core infrastructure and features for Claude.ai and the Electron-based desktop app.
- Use native code to enhance the desktop app's capabilities for macOS and Windows.
- Optimize application performance, memory usage, and startup time across platforms.
- Design and build robust update mechanisms and deployment pipelines.
- Create monitoring tools to track application performance and user experience.
- Build intuition for how advanced LLMs can augment human work on desktop.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with a focus on desktop application development.
- Practical experience with Electron and a deep understanding of its architecture.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and experience with modern frontend frameworks.
- Product-focused approach to building robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.
- Experience with native module development in C++.
- Understanding of macOS and/or Windows platform-specific technologies.
- Experience with cross-platform application packaging, code signing, and distribution.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
