Responsibilities

Implement features, enhancements, backend logic, REST APIs, frontend interfaces, database changes, bug fixes, and production deployments across the OCI platforms.
Develop Croissant/BioCroissant dual-compatibility changes, including type handling, validation rules, keyword and citation support, validators or linters, tests, fixtures, CI hooks, examples, and documentation.
Contribute pull requests and issues to the Croissant repository or maintain a BioCroissant extension package when upstream changes are not feasible.
Maintain architecture, deployment, API, operational, and troubleshooting documentation and support knowledge transfer.
Work with the project team under the guidance of the Senior Telecommunication Engineer and participate in code reviews and open-source development.

A university degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field, or a diploma of equivalent standard from a reputed college of advanced education.
At least three years of progressively responsible experience in software development and documentation in the relevant technical areas.
Full-stack TypeScript experience using Node.js services such as NestJS and a modern React framework.
Experience with JSON, JSON-LD, schemas, and validation, including tools or standards such as Zod, JSON Schema, Croissant, or BioCroissant.
Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Prisma or comparable ORM/query builders, RESTful API design, and OpenAPI specifications.
Proficiency with the stated OCI technology environment, including AWS infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, GitHub Actions, secure cloud deployment, testing, observability, and security tooling.
Ability to read open-source codebases, open issues and pull requests, respond to code reviews, and work with FAIR principles and data interoperability concepts.
Intermediate English is required; knowledge of at least one additional official ITU language is advantageous.

CHF 1000–CHF 1500 paid in monthly instalments upon satisfactory completion and submission of deliverables.
Consultancy engagement focused on deliverable-based work for ITU's Open Code Infrastructure and AI for Health initiatives.
Assessment may include tests or other evaluations, competency-based interviews, and reference checks for final candidates.
