Base Salary
$118k - $212k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and develop an ecosystem of software services extending Equinix networking services through a network-adjacent virtualized compute platform.
- Collaborate on scalable, efficient distributed systems and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Write unit and integration tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable deployment.
- Identify technical debt and drive continuous improvements in software quality.
- Partner with support and operations teams on operationalization, observability, and production support.
- Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, production issue resolution, and an on-call rotation.
- Collaborate proactively with cross-functional teams and business functions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience, preferably building and operating highly reliable distributed systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a relevant engineering field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience building software-defined, multi-tenant networking platforms at scale using cloud-native networking technologies.
- Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and concepts, including BGP, EVP-LAN, and IPSEC.
- Experience with network management protocols including gRPC and Netconf.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other open-source containerization and orchestration alternatives.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure services and technologies.
- Expertise automating application deployments into Kubernetes on x86 deployments.
- Experience with open-source and networking technologies, ecosystems, communities, and industry forums such as the Linux Foundation.
- Good understanding of the application development stack and recent, proficient experience with Golang.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying findings, recommendations, and technical details.
