Responsibilities
- Design and implement software capabilities aligned with 3GPP LTE/NR, including RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, PHY interactions, procedures, state machines, timers, and KPI semantics.
- Translate 3GPP releases, operator requirements, and O-RAN priorities into software designs, test workflows, and reusable components.
- Build and maintain automation and tooling for RAN protocol conformance, interoperability, and performance validation.
- Debug field issues and complex distributed or real-time behaviors using logs, traces, protocol analyzers, KPIs, timing data, and performance analysis.
- Create design documents, test plans, trace and PCAP interpretations, and technical notes.
- Contribute to solutions for Open RAN/O-RAN interfaces and multi-vendor wireless environments.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on RAN-focused expertise in 3GPP LTE/NR, including L1/L2/L3 procedures, scheduling, mobility, bearers, signaling flows, and performance metrics.
- Typically 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with depth and scope considered.
- Strong C/C++ coding skills and/or modern Python experience for automation and tooling.
- Experience developing in Linux environments.
- Proven ability to debug distributed and real-time systems and analyze logs, traces, protocol analyzers, KPIs, timing, and performance bottlenecks.
- Clear written and verbal technical communication in English.
- Preferred: experience with RAN product development, including gNB or eNB, RAN performance optimization, or complex-system feature verification.
- Preferred: familiarity with O-RAN architecture and interfaces, including O-RU, O-DU, O-CU, fronthaul, and RIC concepts.
- Preferred: experience with test frameworks, containers, cloud-based deployment environments, or standards work in 3GPP RAN1/2/4/5.
