Base Salary

$205k - $308k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate the enterprise AI runtime, including model gateways, routing, provider abstraction, identity-aware access, quota controls, and traceability.
  • Establish MCP and A2A standards for agents, tools, and data sources, including authentication, authorization, and security patterns.
  • Develop responsible AI controls such as prompt management, evaluation frameworks, central policies, and adaptable safety guardrails.
  • Integrate enterprise data platforms and build grounding, retrieval, tool-use, and function-calling patterns.
  • Own enterprise AI configuration, governance, administration, auditability, cost visibility, rate limiting, telemetry, and operational monitoring.
  • Drive cross-team agreement and adoption through interface contracts, design documents, evaluation results, decision records, and sequenced migrations.
  • Partner with security, legal, and risk teams to translate AI safety policies into production-ready code and controls.
  • Communicate technical decisions and operational issues to audiences ranging from on-call responders to vice presidents.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering with direct ownership of production systems used by other engineers.
  • Hands-on experience building shared AI platforms with AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, and/or SageMaker for multi-team use at scale.
  • Deep familiarity with MCP and A2A agent and tool protocols, including their authentication and security models.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise identity and access control using Microsoft Entra ID and Okta, including IAM patterns for AI systems and agent-to-agent communication.
  • Experience integrating Databricks, Snowflake, or similar modern data platforms and building grounding and retrieval patterns.
  • Familiarity with Claude for Enterprise and ChatGPT Enterprise, including governance, policy configuration, and cost management.
  • Azure and/or Databricks experience, particularly supporting analytics and research-heavy organizations, is preferred.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-team technical adoption through credibility, clarity, and well-built defaults.
  • Pragmatic approach to AI safety and ability to treat guardrails as an engineering discipline.
