Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across coding, code review, testing, release readiness, and incident analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI-assisted workflows covering secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security.
- Promote reuse of proven patterns and automation across the software development lifecycle and toolchain.
- Influence product design, application functionality, architecture, and technical operations through engineering decisions.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and contribute to firmwide software development lifecycle frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least five years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong experience with AWS.
- Experience using AWS services to host APIs, run standalone applications, support inter-application messaging, and implement event-driven services.
- Experience organizing Terraform workspaces and developing Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience designing and developing microservices and backend services.
- Experience designing backend data models and working with databases.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security controls, plus experience coaching senior engineers or leads.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Preferred experience with messaging systems, Docker, containerization, CI/CD tools, pipeline automation, secure coding, TDD, automated testing frameworks, and modern API design patterns.
