Base Salary
$157k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
- Design and develop backend services, microservices, APIs, event-driven services, data models, and applications.
- Make architecture, application functionality, product design, and technical operations decisions.
- Organize Terraform workspaces and develop Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
- Establish validation standards and promote responsible, secure use of AI-assisted engineering workflows.
- Coach engineers and leads on compliant AI-assisted development patterns and controls.
- Contribute as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in Java, Python, or Go and strong AWS experience.
- Experience using AWS to host APIs, run applications, enable inter-application messaging, and implement event-driven services.
- Experience with Terraform workspaces, Terraform code, microservices, backend services, backend data models, and databases.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development practices and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Ability to solve design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
- Preferred experience with messaging systems, Docker, containerization, CI/CD tools, pipeline automation, secure coding, TDD, automated testing frameworks, and modern API design patterns.
