Responsibilities
- Lead technical presales engagements for strategic and enterprise opportunities across EMEA.
- Own technical discovery, solution design, validation, POCs, technical evaluations, and technical win strategy.
- Advise customers on architecture, security requirements, integrations, risks, and trade-offs.
- Configure and validate solutions in complex customer environments and troubleshoot multi-system issues.
- Use logs, APIs, configuration data, telemetry, and structured troubleshooting to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, and Professional Services.
- Mentor Presales Engineers and create reusable technical guidance, best practices, and POC methodologies.
- Provide field feedback that influences product, documentation, tooling, and presales improvements.
Requirements
- Typically 8+ years of experience in Presales Engineering, Sales Engineering, Security Engineering, Technical Consulting, Professional Services, or a similarly technical customer-facing role.
- Strong experience with enterprise customers and complex technical sales cycles.
- Proven ownership of complex POCs, solution designs, and technical evaluations.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot difficult multi-system technical issues independently.
- Experience supporting strategic or high-value opportunities where technical credibility influenced outcomes.
- Strong ability to operate autonomously and influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong technical foundations in several areas including email security, SMTP, DNS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, Microsoft 365, Exchange, DLP, Insider Threat Management, identity, SSO, authentication, directory services, cloud architectures, APIs, SIEM/SOAR, HTTP, TLS, proxies, networking, certificates, logging, telemetry, automation, scripting, and AI tooling.
- Strong Proofpoint experience, particularly across Information & Cloud Security, DLP, ITM, and email security, is highly desirable.
- Proofpoint experience is advantageous, and candidates from adjacent enterprise security technologies may be considered.
