Responsibilities

  • Design, enhance, and develop single- and multi-system enterprise applications.
  • Maintain, improve, and extend existing software applications, including Oracle ERP applications.
  • Create enterprise software supporting and integrating with Oracle R12 eBusiness Suite.
  • Use Java, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, Oracle Workflow, and Oracle public APIs in application development.
  • Perform technical root-cause analysis and define corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement unit and system testing processes with Garmin IT Analysts.
  • Plan small- and medium-sized projects or tasks and assess the feasibility of goals and objectives.
  • Review complex technical tasks for sound judgment, accuracy, and adequacy.
  • Mentor less experienced IT Software Engineers.
  • Document work and participate in feature analysis, system tradeoffs, and project definition activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully implementing technology solutions.
  • Experience designing, enhancing, and developing single- and multi-system applications.
  • Experience with Java, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, BI Publisher, Oracle Workflow, and Oracle public APIs.
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle 11i or R12 applications.
  • Ability to learn and understand secure coding practices.
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work the Saturday–Tuesday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM shift.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 is generally expected; a GPA of at least 3.5 is preferred.
  • Previous team-environment experience is preferred.
