Base Salary
$142k - $213k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, fault-tolerant backend services and APIs.
- Lead backend architecture, technology choices, and the evolution of a scalable federated platform.
- Implement authentication, authorization, single sign-on, centralized entitlements, and other security controls.
- Optimize performance through caching, asynchronous processing, and efficient data access patterns.
- Architect integrations between Content Provider applications and the unified platform through HTTPS-based interfaces.
- Mentor senior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote software engineering best practices.
- Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex production issues.
- Collaborate with product management, frontend, architecture, and infrastructure teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Assess and manage risk while maintaining compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulations.
Requirements
- 6–10 years of backend software development experience, including architecting and leading complex large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Demonstrated experience as a Principal or Lead Developer with substantial hands-on technical leadership.
- Expert-level proficiency in Java backend development and associated frameworks.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and API design.
- Experience with IAM solutions, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and fine-grained authorization.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS cloud-native development.
- Knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies, including Oracle.
- Experience with Unix, caching solutions, and AI adoption is requested.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, presentation, collaboration, and influencing skills.
- Frontend integration experience with ReactJS, Content Security Policy, corporate design systems, and ADA compliance is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
