Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and modify custom and purchased software systems and applications.
  • Configure and support hardware systems and associated complex computing environments.
  • Provide consulting, mentoring, technical leadership, and project leadership to staff members.
  • Evaluate alternative technical approaches and present recommendations to stakeholders and department leadership.
  • Develop and maintain system requirements, designs, resource inventories, plans, and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology, department leaders, stakeholders, colleagues, vendors, and external support teams.
  • Support system outages and degraded performance, including escalation to vendor support when needed.
  • Participate in proposal development, business-case evaluation, and institutional approval processes.
  • Provide occasional 24/7 on-call support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, including one year of demonstrated technical experience; or an associate’s degree and seven years of experience, including one year of demonstrated technical experience.
  • Experience applying system design principles and software development methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks and projects, meet deliverables and timelines, and work independently.
  • Communication, meeting management, organizational, project management, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
  • Experience working in healthcare technology.
  • Exposure to managing both custom-developed and vendor-supplied applications.
  • Preferred master’s degree in an applicable field.
  • Preferred strong Java development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Preferred proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Azure, Git, cloud-native development and deployment practices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps methodologies.
  • Authorization to work and remain in the United States without current or future Mayo Clinic sponsorship.
