Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, test, debug, and integrate Java server-side applications.
- Evolve existing designs toward large-scale, high-performance, highly available service architectures.
- Apply object-oriented analysis, design principles, and proven architectural patterns.
- Work with distributed computing frameworks including Hadoop, Spark, and Akka.
- Develop and operate distributed systems for cloud and data center infrastructure.
- Use networking and security technologies including HTTP, SPDY, RESTful APIs, SSL/TLS, cryptography, and PKI.
- Contribute to open-source development and work with CI/CD and DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of systems development, deployment, and related operations experience.
- Extensive expertise developing high-performance, highly available Java server-side applications.
- Experience with distributed systems, distributed computing frameworks, multi-threaded programming, and open-source development.
- Strong object-oriented analysis and design skills and experience implementing, unit testing, debugging, and integrating moderately complex code.
- Deep understanding of networking and security technologies.
- Preferred master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Familiarity with RDBMS and NoSQL data storage, Git, Gradle, Maven, Jetty, Tomcat, Play Framework, Nginx, Linux administration, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
