Responsibilities
- Design, document, and drive architecture for scalable, reliable, secure platform components.
- Own complex initiatives from architecture and design through development, deployment, production operation, and iteration.
- Build a trusted data foundation that unifies Aura’s information for intelligence generation.
- Architect secure AI-agent access to sensitive data using least-privilege access, isolation, and privacy guarantees.
- Build systems that turn intelligence into personalized customer and family safety insights.
- Make technology decisions across the stack while balancing scalability, cost, and operational simplicity.
- Champion security, privacy, observability, testing, and operational excellence practices.
- Mentor engineers and provide guidance on design, performance tuning, and system reliability.
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience designing and shipping complex, large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience owning complex systems end to end from architecture through production operation.
- Strong knowledge of software design, data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
- In-depth cloud-technology knowledge, including choosing among serverless, containers, relational and NoSQL databases, caches, queues, and data-processing pipelines.
- Experience building systems that handle sensitive or regulated data with security and privacy as core design constraints.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: production experience with AI/LLM systems such as agents, retrieval pipelines, evaluation, or LLM observability.
- Preferred: security, privacy engineering, trust and safety, large-scale data-platform, AWS, or Infrastructure as Code experience.
