Responsibilities
- Own customers’ production readiness and drive their first production workflow through stable operation.
- Establish best practices and guardrails for reliability, failure handling, scaling, upgrades, observability, and operational readiness.
- Configure alerting, monitor health signals, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and remove activation blockers.
- Optimize customer systems for cost and performance and manage migrations, technical risk, and architectural debt.
- Build and execute KPI-driven technical success plans tied to production outcomes.
- Lead coordination among Professional Services, Support, Partners, and internal teams to deliver high-quality work on time.
- Conduct technical reviews, readiness checkpoints, maturity assessments, and production-readiness certification.
- Train developers and customer platform architects on Temporal SDK and Temporal Server best practices.
- Partner with customers, Growth AEs, and Solution Architects to drive adoption, renewals, and growth.
- Create technical documentation, runbooks, training materials, and technical narratives for customer and internal audiences.
Requirements
- Reside in the United Kingdom; London is preferred.
- 6+ years of professional software engineering or solutions engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and reliability engineering principles.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go, Java, TypeScript, or Python.
- Experience building, deploying, and operating production systems at scale.
- Ability to debug complex technical issues and guide customers through resolution.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience creating technical documentation, runbooks, and training materials.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements and team events.
- Prior experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration platforms is preferred.
- Experience with observability practices for distributed systems is preferred.
- Background in professional services, technical consulting, or solutions engineering is preferred.
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and infrastructure-as-code tools is preferred.
- Open source or developer community contributions are preferred.
- Experience designing and delivering technical training or workshops is preferred.
