Responsibilities
- Propose software and kernel implementation optimizations to improve AI workload performance.
- Model AI hardware and software performance, analyze critical kernels and workload patterns, and estimate ideal performance for given hardware specifications.
- Enhance and maintain performance-modeling tools, correlate projections with devices or simulators, and improve the models.
- Study new deep-learning networks to identify future optimization requirements.
- Design and develop hardware-agnostic and hardware-aware AI framework features, with a focus on ML kernel development.
- Extend deep-learning training and inference capabilities within Intel’s AI software stack.
- Debug and resolve functional and convergence issues in multilayered software systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years, master’s degree with 6+ years, or PhD with 3+ years of relevant industry experience in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong Python or C++ programming skills, data structures and algorithms knowledge, and experience with large software projects.
- Knowledge of computer architecture and compiler fundamentals.
- Expertise in performance optimization techniques for AI workloads on modern hardware architectures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: familiarity with AI algorithms, LLMs, deep learning, and serving frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, vLLM, SGLang, and Hugging Face.
- Preferred: knowledge of Intel CPU, GPU, and AI accelerator architectures and experience developing or integrating CUTLASS- or Triton-based kernels in LLMs.
- Preferred: knowledge of compiler algorithms for heterogeneous systems and fuser optimizations, plus experience solving complex technical challenges and working across geographic teams.
