Responsibilities
- Follow the frontier of inference systems research and determine which approaches matter for the organization’s workloads.
- Build research ideas into the serving stack as measured, system-level improvements.
- Design new inference approaches where existing methods are insufficient.
- Define measurements before optimizing and communicate what results do and do not demonstrate.
- Collaborate with the AI Cloud platform team that owns the production serving stack.
- Write production code, conduct research, and produce results strong enough to ship and publish.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; exceptional Bachelor’s candidates may also be considered.
- Strong understanding of LLM inference and serving systems.
- Hands-on experience with at least one inference engine, such as vLLM or SGLang.
- A track record of both research and implementation.
- Strong Python and C++ skills.
- Preferred: distributed serving experience, publications at top systems venues, or substantial open-source contributions to inference projects.
