Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain order routing, execution lifecycles, internal double-entry ledgers, and automated funding and reconciliation systems.
- Build production systems for concurrency and partial network failures using idempotent handlers, durable event history, replayable state, and self-healing mechanisms.
- Integrate with clearing broker-dealers, international brokers, ACH and wire banking rails, FX mechanisms, and automated KYC/AML verification providers.
- Own production operations, including sandbox testing environments, monitoring and alerting, incident response, on-call rotations, performance tuning, and postmortems.
- Build internal tools and dashboards for operations, compliance, and support teams to audit, investigate, and resolve issues.
- Support data pipelines powering real-time AI research and content-translation engines.
- Drive problem definition, system design, technical architecture, and pragmatic product and engineering decisions from zero.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of hands-on experience building, scaling, and maintaining high-availability production backend systems.
- Proven experience owning mission-critical systems involving money movement, balances, orders, ledgering, or other high-integrity financial data.
- Deep expertise in at least one modern backend language, such as Go, Python, Node.js, Rust, or Java.
- Experience with production data infrastructure, including relational databases, distributed event queues or streams, and caching layers.
- Strong understanding of distributed-systems trade-offs, data modeling, transaction isolation, idempotency, failure-domain isolation, and state reconciliation.
- Hands-on experience with on-call rotations, incident management, performance tuning, and thorough postmortems.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, making pragmatic engineering trade-offs, and contributing to product strategy and technical architecture.
- Preferred experience includes scaling consumer fintech, crypto, or brokerage platforms to 100,000 or more active users; capital-markets concepts; broker-dealer, clearing-platform, or BaaS integrations; double-entry accounting ledgers; multi-currency FX rails; stablecoin or on-chain settlement; cross-border regulatory awareness; Korean or Japanese language fluency; and AI-assisted developer tools.
