Responsibilities
- Own platform security across AWS, Kubernetes, and GCP, emphasizing detection, alerting, and incident response readiness.
- Lead platform security initiatives from problem definition through production rollout and continuous improvement.
- Improve Datadog-based detection and response capabilities, including logging coverage, actionable detections, tuning, triage workflows, and escalation paths.
- Strengthen identity, privileged access, auditability, secrets management, and secure access to internal infrastructure.
- Improve Kubernetes cluster and workload security through policy enforcement and secure workload identity patterns.
- Create investigation playbooks and runbooks and participate in Security on-call rotations.
- Partner with SRE, Data, Engineering, and GRC teams on cross-functional security initiatives.
- Build security automation that makes secure practices easier for engineers.
Requirements
- Strong experience securing cloud and platform environments, especially AWS and Kubernetes, with the ability to extend that approach to GCP.
- Hands-on experience delivering technical security initiatives end-to-end in production environments.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
- Practical identity and access security experience, including familiarity with Okta event monitoring and identity-focused detection patterns.
- Experience building or maturing security operations capabilities, including triage, runbooks, tuning, and measurable improvement from SIEM inputs.
- Experience improving logging coverage and signal quality and building actionable, low-noise detections; Datadog SIEM experience is a plus.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and business judgment skills, including cost-benefit tradeoffs.
- Minimum C1 English level.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and partner with SRE during incidents.
- Preferred experience with Terraform, Jenkins hardening, CI/CD supply-chain security, Cloudflare security controls, scripting or programming for automation, and cloud-native incident response.
