Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate enterprise security controls as software products integrated into the SDLC and core enterprise platforms.
- Own security capabilities across architecture, implementation, deployment, and production support.
- Write, test, and maintain production code for scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
- Design and integrate APIs, backend services, distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-based applications.
- Collaborate with product managers, platform teams, and partner engineering groups to deliver security capabilities.
- Evaluate technologies and contribute to system and component designs focused on scalability, reliability, developer experience, and security outcomes.
- For lead and expert levels, coach or mentor engineers and lead technical design and architecture decisions.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience owning production systems through the full software development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, such as Java or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating scalable distributed systems and cloud-based applications, including microservices architectures.
- Experience designing, developing, and integrating APIs and backend services.
- Familiarity with test-driven development, paired programming, continuous integration and deployment, and agile delivery models.
- Preferred knowledge of application and API security, vulnerability classes such as OWASP Top 10, and attack techniques such as MITRE ATT&CK.
- Preferred experience with authentication, authorization, identity-based access controls, secure software development, security-focused testing, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, or Azure.
- Preferred exposure to large language models, machine learning, AI-driven systems, and AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot or Cursor.
- Lead and expert levels additionally require at least 1 year of demonstrated engineering coaching or mentoring experience and a track record of leading complex technical architecture and cross-team collaboration.
