Base Salary

$139k - $233k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Specify, design, and implement body-controls firmware architecture and own the software codebase from prototype bring-up through high-volume production.
  • Develop control and estimation algorithms for windows, closure systems, lighting, motors, actuators, sensors, and related body-control features.
  • Lead the design, integration, and validation of body-controls hardware on benches, bucks, lab cars, and vehicles.
  • Translate software requirements into electrical hardware and system requirements and collaborate with software integration teams.
  • Apply functional safety principles and participate in safety analyses for vehicle subsystems.
  • Develop and execute firmware test plans covering functionality, stability, robustness, performance, and low-power modes.
  • Drive cross-functional feature development with hardware, software, architecture, systems, validation, and program teams.
  • Author feature boundary diagrams, subsystem block diagrams, validation strategies, and technical documentation.
  • Lead subsystem reviews throughout vehicle program development.
  • Support hardware validation, lab-car testing, and automation framework development for unit, SIL, and HIL testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
  • At least 5 years of experience writing production-grade C for real-time embedded systems and understanding coding standards such as MISRA C.
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS, including FreeRTOS, SafeRTOS, OSEK, or AUTOSAR, as well as bare-metal embedded software.
  • Strong experience with low-level debugging, hardware bring-up, timing optimization, RAM/Flash optimization, and low-power modes.
  • At least 5 years of experience with electrical hardware applications, prototype bring-up, and systems development.
  • At least 5 years of experience with CAN, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet vehicle network protocols.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies.
  • At least 5 years of experience using embedded networking interface tools in automotive, aerospace, or comparable embedded systems environments.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle architecture, battery technologies, motor calibration, OBD calibration, functional safety, diagnostics, networks, and software and hardware tool development.
  • Experience creating and executing component-level test procedures and owning test results.
  • Preferred qualifications include driver development, RTOS integration, software build tools, PCB hardware analysis, Python test scripting, software design and maintainability, hardware bring-up, system debugging, code optimization, and circuit analysis and design.
