Base Salary
$132k - $159k/yr
Responsibilities
- Generate and execute autonomous-vehicle test plans, collect relevant data, and design strategic test progression.
- Perform root-cause analysis of defects and performance issues and recommend solutions.
- Design and deploy instrumentation and infrastructure for vehicle data capture.
- Analyze test data, produce performance reports, and maintain verification and validation reports against system requirements.
- Collaborate with software component and system design teams to define metrics, implement vehicle-level tests, and document defects with supporting logs.
- Perform on-road autonomous-vehicle testing as a detailed observer and annotator, with up to 25% domestic or international travel.
- Execute software lifecycle activities in C++ and scripting languages within a Linux development environment.
- Design and implement data-acquisition and analysis systems for remote vehicles.
- Use simulation software and scenarios to prevent software-performance regressions.
- Support software and system-level verification strategies, unit testing, deployment, maintenance, and process automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field with 6+ years of technically relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 3+ years, or a doctorate with 1+ years.
- Working-level experience in transportation, engineering, safety, or related technology and in testing and verification of systems combining hardware and software.
- Working-level software development knowledge in a Linux environment, including Ubuntu or CentOS.
- Working knowledge of C++, Python, Bash, and REST APIs.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex robotic systems through real-time and in-depth full-system analysis across mechanical, electrical, and software domains.
- Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD delivery concepts and tools including Jenkins, automation, and configuration management.
- Working knowledge of Kanban or Scrum and the ability to design actionable test plans.
- Ability to monitor software and read, analyze, and type in a moving vehicle for extended periods.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, judgment, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently under stressful and dynamic conditions.
- Bonus: experience with RT3000 inertial/GPS measurement systems and EuroNCAP test protocols.
